Magical Cocktails Inspired By Harry Potter

The recent Harry Potter reunion special has really been a trip down memory lane. Though I never read the books until fairly recently, I always loved the movies. Now that even people who were born in the year the first Harry Potter movie was released are old enough to drink, these spellbinding cocktails and mocktails by VonHaus have caught my eye. I’ll definitely be testing them out in the coming months.

From the Love Potion to Snapes Secret cocktail – there’s a magical concoction suited to every Witch or Wizard.

Love Potion

Ingredients

  • 50ml champagne
  • 50ml pink lemonade
  • 3 strawberries, crushed
  • 1tsp strawberry liqueur
  • Ice cubes

1. Place the crushed strawberries and ice cubes into the bottom of a wine glass

2. Pour in the champagne and pink lemonade and stir

3. add the strawberry liqueur, mix, and serve

Quidditch Quencher

Ingredients

  • 25ml citrus vodka
  • 50ml orange juice
  • 50ml cranberry juice
  • 25ml lime juice
  • 25ml sugar syrup
  • Ice cubes

1. In a tall glass, pour the juices, vodka, and sugar syrup into a glass of your choice and stir

2. Serve over ice cubes and garnish with an orange slice

Snape’s Secrets

Ingredients

  • 25ml rum
  • 100ml ginger ale
  • 1 tsp lemon syrup
  • A slice of lemon to serve

1. In a short glass, mix the dark rum, ginger ale, and lemon syrup together

2. Serve over ice with a slice of lemon

Bubble Bubble Cauldron Cocktail

Ingredients

  • 700ml dry gin
  • 100ml grenadine
  • 1.5 litres lemonade
  • Frozen mixed berries
  • Dry ice

1. In a large bowl, mix the dry gin, grenadine, and lemonade together

2. When ready to serve, add dry ice to a tall glass to create a mist when pouring your cocktail using a ladle

3. Serve with frozen mixed berries

Mysterious Magic Martini

Ingredients

  • 50ml sloe gin
  • 25ml sweet vermouth
  • 25ml dry vermouth
  • 1/3rd tsp pink or blue edible glitter shimmer powder
  • Orange peel

1. Using a cocktail shaker, fill with ice and pour the sloe gin, dry and sweet vermouth and shake vigorously

2. Strain into a martini glass

3. Add your edible glitter to your drink and stir gently, watching your drink turn into a magical concoction

4. Serve with an orange peel

Patronus Potion

Ingredients

  • 100ml lemonade
  • 15ml lime cordial
  • 50ml soda
  • Mint leaves to garnish
  • Crushed ice

1. In a cocktail shaker, mix the lemonade, lime cordial, and soda together

2. Pour over a tall glass filled with crushed ice

3. Garnish with mint leaves
